I am currently paying off last year's taxes with an IRS payment plan. If I have a balance due this year, can I also pay it off with an installment plan?

They are of similar amounts (a little over $10,000), so paying off one or the other wouldn't help. Can requesting a consolidation or separate plan be done when I file on TurboTax? How?

No, you cannot do it through the TurboTax program. You will have to apply through the IRS website. Click here to Apply online for a payment plan.

If you are unable to revise an existing installment agreement online, call the IRS at 800-829-1040

The IRS may allow you to consolidate all your unpaid taxes into a single installment agreement if you have multiple tax balances. You must demonstrate that you are making a good-faith effort to pay off your unpaid taxes and can’t pay your taxes owed in full. Remember that interest and penalties will continue to accrue on your tax balance until you pay it off.

Your specific tax situation determines which payment options are available to you. Payment options include full payment, a short-term payment plan or a long-term payment plan

The IRS does charge a user fee for setting up or reinstating an installment agreement.
