I am confused about the "3 year" window. Is that 3 calendar years or 3 tax years since the taxes lag a calendar year behind. Can I still file 2020 and get my refund?

**On the web it kept referring to a "3 year limit" for back taxes  when you could still get your refund money.** Also, do I need to make sure that I go to the post office BEFORE the 15th and not ON the 15th to qualify for the back tax refund?

Because the tax deadline for 2020 Tax Returns was postponed until May 17th, 2021, you have until May 17, 2024 to file your 2020 return and claim a refund.

It is fine to go to the post office ON May 17th, your post mark just has to be May17, 2024 or earlier.
