I am being asked to change my payment date, but the instruction state that if I am filing today, I must use todays date, yet it will not accept today's date..help

You may make a payment on the IRS website. See IRS payment portal. In TurboTax, make sure you switch to pay by check or you could be paying your taxes twice when the debit issue is fixed!!
