I am at the last step to e-file tax returns using Turbotax Premier. The software asked me to enter a number in California Form 3510 Line 28. However, it is not allowed.

The box of CA Form 3510 Line 28 is not fillable. Even when I filled all the other boxes before it, it is still not allowed to enter anything into it.

Are you using a Mac computer? This is a known issue for Mac users. Mac users are experiencing not having the input screen option needed to enter the values used for CA Form 3510 line 28 for TurboTax Desktop. Please see this help article for details to sign up to be notified of updates.

If you are using a Windows device, you should see an option in the California interview under Credits to enter the information needed.
