You cannot buy a CD for 2024, but you can buy the same TurboTax Deluxe as a download instead of a CD. The TurboTax Deluxe download for 2024 is the same software that you have been using from the CD. The only difference is that you install it from a download instead of from a CD. Once it's installed it's exactly the same.

But since you now have to log into an Intuit Account all your downloads and licenses are listed there (even if you bought it from somewhere else) so if you need to download to install it again or install on another computer, even on the other operating system (Windows, Mac). You can also burn the installation file to a CD or save to a usb flash drive.
But even if you have the CDs you won’t be able to reinstall 2020 or prior. They only support the last 3 years. And the License Code started in 2019. So 2019 needs to connect to Turbo Tax to verify the License Code. But they have stopped supporting 2019. So you can’t install and activate 2019 and newer when they stop supporting each year going forward.
DOWNLOADS SUCK.

Why will Intuit NOT provide a CD of TurboTax 2024? If it's not available on CD, then I' guess I'll be looking for another way to do my 2024 taxes. Can't wait for the feds to may their tax software available (for free) for 2025.

Your post/link about a CD for $10 is void of details and rationale for it to be substantially less costly than a downloaded version. Is the CD $10 and the software $60? Why would anyone simply click on such a link that's probably clickbait?
@crkemper360 Do some reading in this thread. When tax season began, TurboTax (and all of the other tax software companies) were NOT providing software on plastic CD's. Most new computers lack disk drives. So the 2024 software ---from TT, H & R Block, etc. etc. etc.--- is only being offered as a download. Even when you used a CD in the past in order to do your initial installation, you had to download all of the updates and download the state software programs. The difference this year is that the initial installation is provided as a download. There have been so many confused/technology challenged/irate users who want a plastic CD, that Intuit is now offering to let you buy an install CD for an extra $10 AFTER you purchase the desktop download software. And ---- even if you buy that CD, you will still have to download updates and the state software.

You have to purchase the software, which includes a license code. You can then purchase a CD for an additional $10. You can then install the software from the CD using the license code.

Users that want a CD are not confused or technologically challenged; they simply want a CD. Yes, the updates are downloaded, so what? The updates are needed because the product is pushed to consumers before it's complete and all the bugs are worked out. Users that simply want a CD already know this. So what?

Seems to me that some are trying to convince others that it's no different, one way or the other. But there is a difference, and that difference is loss of consumers' perceived value of purchases and mostly corporate cost (time and money), but no one is willing to say that on this thread (or probably any other thread). I purchased TTD 2023 (CD) for under $50; TTD 2022 (CD) for under $40. Now, TTD 2024 is at least $60 (download only) and $10 more for a CD, regardless of what is or isn't actually on the CD). So even though TT is saving itself time and money with "download only", there's no savings to the user. $10 increase every year, and a premium for something that was provided for years.

Right, that’s what we’ve been saying. They only sell the download now. But probably after everyone started complaining and want a CD you can now buy a CD for $10 AFTER you buy the download and License Code.

@boggsr52 You are misunderstanding something---amazon is not sending CD's. Amazon is selling the download. If you really want a CD, you can purchase the download and when you have your license key you can pay $10 to TurboTax to send you a CD.
