I already submitted my tax returns via e-file. Do I need to answer questions about IDENTITY PROTECTION PIN?

i SUBMITTED MY TAX RETURNS VIA E-FILE. I DO NOT CARE ABOUT IDENTITY PROTECTION PIN. I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE A PIN. MUST I HAVE IDENTITY PROTECTION PIN FOR MY TAX RETURNS TO BE ACCEPTED?

If you are required to use an IP PIN to file your taxes, they won't get accepted.  Contact the IRS to find out why.

An IP PIN (Identity Protection PIN) which is a 6-digit number that the IRS provides to taxpayers to validate their identity, you will need to contact the IRS.
