I already paid for Turbo Tax through Frys electronics. Why am I being asked again to pay for Turbo tax before I can pay taxes?

You likely need to explain that more. So far it's not clear what all you are doing.

 

What exactly did you buy from Fry's, and what are you being asked to pay for now?

Did you buy the TurboTax Software from Fry's and then installed the software on your computer?   If so, are you efiling a state return?  If so, there is a 24.99 state efile fee, except no fee for New York state.  There is no fee to print and mail the state return.

 

Or did you buy software that did not include a state program and have added a state program?

 

Or did you purchase software from Fry's but ended up using Online TurboTax by mistake?  If so, Online TurboTax would not know about your software purchase and would ask you to pay.    If that happened to you, we can tell you how to download the *.tax2020 data file from Online TurboTax to finish it in the desktop software.
