Are you saying you are prompted to upgrade to self-employed as you started with the Deluxe edition?
Very likely you have business expenses that the TurboTax Deluxe online does not support. The TurboTax Deluxe online only supports business income without any expenses.
If you have simple business-related expenses and do not want to upgrade to the TurboTax Self-Employed version, you might want to consider another option of getting the TurboTax Deluxe desktop/Cd version.
