Hang on to those W-2's. You have caused yourself a problem. They all belong on the SAME tax return. Now you are going to have to file an amended tax return if your e-filed returns are not rejected when the IRS begins processing returns on January 29. Let's hope they are rejected.
You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it. It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox
Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return. If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.
If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund. THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and mail it in. You will need to use a form called a 1040X. You cannot e-file an amended return. They have to be mailed, and it takes at least 2-4 months for the IRS to process an amended return. Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself. Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed
You will probably need more help since you have never done this before. Post back here for help when you see what happens with the returns you e-filed and we will help you.
Please explain--what do you mean by "filed two tax returns?" You mean you e-filed more than one federal tax return? Or do you mean something else?
Do you mean more than 1 W2? Did you actually submit the first two? And then got 2 more in the mail?
I already filled two w2 this is my first time doing taxes I didn't know I had to do all of them at the same time and received 2 more w2 and I'm unable to file them
All W2s should be included on the same tax return...you don't file separate tax returns for each W2.
