I already entered my military W-2 but it is still asking if I have one, and that I won't get a discount if I don't enter it. Why isn't it working?

The employee name on the W-2 is DFAS-JFLL/IN but that is where i get paid from, it is still military. Is that why it didn't register it as a military W-2?

Edit the W-2.

1) When you get to the main form, make sure all of the boxes are filled in as shown on your paper W-2.  Edit any that need correction.

2)  THEN....on the page (or two)  AFTER the main W-2, there is a page with a whole bunch of checkboxes in it.  One in the middle needs to be checked to indicate that it is a Military W-2.

If you don't see that military W-2  selection checkbox, then you did not indicate you were in the military on the My Infor page where you put in your personal information...and you need to go back and indicate you were in the military there, first.

I indicated that I was military on the "Your Info" page and in the W-2 section.  W-2 checkbox in the middle of the page states active duty military...box is checked.  I still get the error which will not allow me to complete my tax return.

Not all DFAS W-2s are military pay. What's the EIN?
