Husband died in Jan 2017 just remarried which name do I use?

Ok so my husband died in January of 2017. I just remarried a few days ago and today went to SSA to change my name. Do I file with my old last name or my new last name? I am filing qualifying widow for 2017.

You will need to use the name that SSA has as of now.  The IRS matches your information to the SSA database so at this point (or when it is completely updated in their system) your new name will be the one that matches your SSN.

"Husband died in Jan 2017"  "I am filing qualifying widow for 2017."
No, you file a JOINT return with you late husband for 2017.  Your new husband file as Single (or whatever he was on 12/221/2017).

I know that. I file for 2017 as joint with my late husband. That was not my question.  My social security number states my new last name and everything I have seen says I need the name that matches my social security number. My new husband IS filing single as we were not married to each in 2017
