Husband died in 2018. T Tax won't let me file my PA Taxes jointly; say create 2 single accounts (me and him). I call PA taxes, they say file jointly. How do I proceed?

It will not let you file jointly if your spouses name is first.  You will get the error cannot file as primary deceased.  To fix this you need to make your name first on the return.  Then you will be able to file the return.

How did you file your federal return?

We filed Jointly. Talked to someone at turbo tax and we discovered after an hour a way to fix.  I changed the position of our names, me first and then him, so I was now the primary.  Of course I now had a death date and he was now running my business, so many things had to be changed, hard to find where to change, could not get back to the original questions I answered. Also had to close it all down and pull back up but I did it and got my PA taxes filed today. Can't it be put in the software that when one spouse dies the other becomes the primary?
