HSA creation and tax liability

I recently created an HSA acocunt on January 1, 2025. Can I make catchup contributions that reduce my 2024 liability?

Did you have HDHP coverage during 2024? If yes, then you can make a contribution in 2025 for 2024 (you must make sure that the HSA custodian understands that the contribution is for 2024, because their default is to make it for 2025).
