Once you've completed the Federal return, select the "State Taxes" tab in the navigation area near the top of the product screen. From here, you will select the State product you need. Follow the screen instructions to transfer information you entered in Federal into your State.
Note: your free state refers to the actual state you download. Once you download the state you can use that state on as many returns that you would like to. The e-file fee for states will apply every time you e-file a state. You can print and file your state through the mail at no additional charge.
