You can transfer a 2023 Desktop return ending in .tax2023 into the Online version.   How to transfer into Turbo Tax Online, including from a pdf file or other software or from the Desktop program

How many Desktop returns did you do for 2023?  12?  Online is only good for 1 return per account.   12 returns will be very expensive unless some can use the Free Edition.  Why can’t you use the Desktop program again this year?  Is your computer too old?

If you used the Desktop program before you may notice several differences and not like the online version.  It has less features and no Forms Mode.  You can only do 1 return.  Federal and state are separate fees.

Your return is only saved online so be sure to save both the .tax2024 data file and the pdf file to your computer when you are done.  In case you need to amend in the future or if you need a copy to get a loan or something.  You might not be able to access your online return when you need a copy.

!2 returns?    Is your computer too old to meet the system requirements for 2024 desktop?

Using online will be really expensive.   With online you get ONE return per fee, and you pay separate fees for federal and state.   Maybe you can use the Free Edition for some of those---
