How to select other dependent credit for a child in turbotax

Two children. First child is a US citizen eligible for $2000 credit. Second child doesn't have SSN or ITIN. I'm planning to attach W7 with a tax return. In this case, a second child is eligible only for ODC.

I've left SSN field empty. Later in 'Deductions and Credits' section I can see $2000+$2000=$4000 credit for both children which is incorrect.

Looks like a trivial question but I'm stuck. How to select OCD for a child in turbotax?

Some historical context:
last year ITIN for my child was rejected. Reason: wrong child credit, should be OCD. So I need to find a way of correctly/clearly indicating it.

You must include the child on your tax return and indicate that they are not your Child, but Another person.

Open TurboTax

  1. Select Personal Information > My Info
  2. On the screen Here's an updated summary of your situation
  3. Select [Add another dependent]
  4. Who do you support? - Another person
  5. Let's start with some info about who you support
  6. XXXX additional info
  7. Less common situations for XXXX
  8. Let's get XXXX SSN - [Skip for now]
  9. Good news! XXXX qualifies as your dependent

You will have to mail your return (Not E-File) and attach the W-7 to the front.

Please see the IRS Publication Instructions for Form W-7
