How to report OID from Treasury Inflation Protected Securities (TIPS) on Turbotax Home and Business

We received a 1099 from TreasuryDirect which includes 1099-INT for Treasury Notes and TIPS and a 1099-OID for the TIPS.  Where/how is the OID put on Turbotax?

Follow these steps to enter the 1099-OID for your Treasury Inflation Protected Securities:

  1. Select Federal Taxes
  2. Under Income & Expenses scroll down to 1099-OID, Foreign Accounts, select Start
  3. Select Form 1099-OID for original issue discount income
  4. Select Yes for Any OID for 2017?
  5. Enter your 1099-OID information, select Continue
  6. Enter adjustments if any apply, select Continue

Your 1099-INT is entered under Income & Expenses as well.  Scroll down to Interest on 1099-INT, select Start.
