How to report HSA deduction in turbotax ?

This year there's no 1099-SA from the HSA company (it's not HealthEquity, but some small finance firm. Its website says no 1099-SA for me, but i still need to report 8889)

So i went to Federal Deductions & Credits -> Medical -> 1099-SA,HSA,MSA,

there's a button "Add another 1099-SA", but no other buttons to bring up form 8889.

I do see some posts saying 8889 is generated automatically.

In my case, if i only typed in valid amount box 12 with code W in W-2.

is there anything else to input ?

The 1099-SA shows distributions coming out of the HSA, which is why you did not get one.  If you entered the W-2 information, you also must make sure you go to the HSA, MSA Contributions under Medical in the Deductions & Credits section.  Here they will ask you about the HDHP plan etc.- this will allow the 8889 to get reported.
