How to prevent 1099-Misc from getting double-counted in Turbo Tax Deluxe?

I have income from a 1099-MISC box 3 (other income), related to my regular work so it should go in the Business income section, but in Turbo Tax Deluxe 2017, it's getting entered both in the Business income section and in the "1099-MISC and other income" section.

The 1099-Misc with an amount in Box 3 should go under Other Income, not in the Business section, since it is related to your regular job.

You can delete the entry from the Business section. This section would be to enter income/expenses from Self-Employment, where you may or may not have 1099-Misc income to report. If you did receive a 1099-Misc for self-employment, it would have an amount in Box 7, and TurboTax would prepare a Schedule C.

You also pay self-employment tax on Business income.

Thanks for your answer. It seems I was wrong about it being double-counted. Shows up twice in the income summary, but only counted once in income. https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/3174062
