How to I file for an expat extension? I keep reading that it is automatic. Does this mean I don't have to file an extension?

You'll be able to e-file your IRS extension (Form 4868) in TurboTax Online starting March 20.

We currently provide 3 options to file your extension. Please see the following link for more information:
