Turbotax accepted and saved my license info., but going through the process to mail the form does not show the Drivers mLicense info (just X's for all fields. I e-filed Federal previously and it was accepted.
Personal information like this will be used to confirm identity for e-filing, then prints as xs in order to provide security for your information.
Thanks, but I selected "Print Returns to Mail" via "File a Return" (for both state and federal or just state.) TurboTax eventually gives me the option to create a PDF or preview. Both options display X's in all fields for my DL.
That's exactly what I'm saying. If you e-file, the information is used to identify the e-filer, just like your encrypted bank information is sent in an e-file. Anything you print shows xxs. Filing by mail does not require the same information confirmation. You can click on Forms on the upper right and enter the DL info in the Information Worksheet in the Federal forms list, just below p.4 and see what happens when you print Same with the state Information worksheet..
Ah. The key statement from AL Dept. of Revenue is "Omitting any of this (DL) information will cause your return to be rejected and a paper return must be filed." Dunno why they don't say that DL info. is only needed for e-filing... Thanks for the clarification that I didn't find in the AL Form 40 instructions. 🙂
