The easiest way to determine which credits applied to 2016, is to print the 1040 for both years and do a side-by-side comparison. To get a copy of 2017 (assuming 2016 was printed last year), follow the steps below:
- Click on Forms on the upper right.
- Click on Form 1040 in the left menu.
- Click Print below the image (on the left).
