How to file tax when my wife is waiting for her Social Security Number

I am a US citizen.  My wife is here in the US and waiting for her permanent residence adjustment status and her new social security number.  He has already applied for it and just awaiting for it.  I see on form W-7 ITIN that she is not to use that form if she is eligible for the social security number. So how do I file my tax if I am married and want to file jointly? Thank you.

You have to wait for the SSN to be issued.  The due date on the tax return is May 17,2021.  If you do not think the SSN will be issued by then file for an extension so you would not have to file the tax return until October 15, 2021.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for filing an extension - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/extensions/help/how-do-i-file-an-irs-extension-form-4868-in-turbotax-online/00/25999
