How to enter the IRA/Roth IRAs contributed in the past

Hello,

My daughter contributed the following to IRA and roth IRA over the years.

Year       ROTH       IRA

2016                       2,500

2017                       2,500

2018      1,765

2019      1,000

---------------------------------

                2,765     5,000

---------------------------------

Unfortunately we failed to use the tracking feature in TurboTax premium during those years. The above are the years she was doing odd jobs while still in school. Now she has a steady job since the middle of 2024 and we are about to file her return for 2024. From now on I want to help her track the above contributions in Turbo Tax premium 2024 onwards. But I am not finding specific menus that allow me to capture these amounts or just the last row, the cummulative totals of 2,745 and 5,000 respectively.

Can you please help where I would find the menu. I tried to use 'seatch' but is giving only some back ground info about IRA but not specifically about how to enter this info into IT retnr for 2024. Please see if you can point it out where/how to do it in Turbo tax premium.

To enter prior years' IRA contributions in TurboTax Online:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Go Deductions & Credits
  3. Scroll down to Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions
  4. Click on Start
  5. If you have 2024 contribution, enter it.  Otherwise leave the entries blank and Continue
  6. Answer the Excess Contribution Question
  7. On the next screen you will be able to enter your nondeductible Traditional IRA Contributions.

Nondeductible IRA contributions are supposed to be reported on Form 8606.  If you did not complete and file Form 8606 with your tax return, you can manually prepare a Form 8606 for each year you did not file one and mail them to the IRS.  Form 8606 can be filed as a stand alone form if not filed with the tax return.

Roth IRA contributions are not reported on your tax return, but you should track them yourself.
