For whichever form you are using, Schedule C, E, or F, go to the section to Add an Asset for depreciation. After you enter the details of the asset, you will have the option to depreciate the asset over time or select to claim the Section 179 deduction. If you do not see Section 179 as a choice, then the asset may not be qualified to claim that deduction.
