How to eliminate Needs Review statement on turbotax 1099-G

If it needs review, perform the review and make needed corrections.  Look for highlighted areas and items in red.  Turbotax is telling you it found some error or inconsistency that needs attention.

If this does not help, please provide more information about the info on your form.

If you are getting a needs review and nothing you do is eliminating the error, then I suggest that you go back to where the 1099-G is entered and delete the 1099-G and then re-enter the 1099-G.   Sometimes there is something that is hanging up in the return that just by deleting and re-entering the document in question, fixes the problem.

 

To get back to where you would have entered the 1099-G:

  1. Go back into TurboTax if not already signed in and go to the Federal section of your return;
  2. Then go to the Income and Expense section;
  3. Scroll down to Unemployment and click on Update
  4. On the next screen click on Delete next to the 1099-G
  5. After it is deleted then click on Add a Government Payment
  6. Re-enter the 1099-G and this should take care of your problem.
