How to change my 2020 tax refund payment to direct deposit before e-file?

I used TurboTax Deluxe for years, for 2020 tax return, it's troublesome trying to change my refund payment. In the final form, I cannot update and set the direct deposit numbers. Going 'File' and reopen my return, I searched all under tabs 'Personal Info' and 'Federal Taxes' and I was unable to find anywhere to fill it up.  Please advice.

Got it! After quite a while puzzling without any clue, I went ahead to click 'e-file now' and found that it takes a few steps including setting up the bank info before officially going out. It's sort of confusing.  Thank you for trying to help!

Did you already e-file?  If you did NOT e-file you can go to the FILE section and change how you want to receive your refund.  If you want direct deposit you need the routing number and your own account number.

You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.

I didn't e-file it yet and I did go to File but found no where to do it. I read some answer saying under File, revisit, there is 'refund info', it's not the case for 2020 TurboTax. Please guide me through.

Should I go ahead click 'e-file now' and then I would get a question for how to receive my tax refund and set up with my bank info before it officially goes out?

No, do not e-file now because once you file the tax return the method to receive the tax refund cannot be changed.

Go back to the File section of the program and on Step 2 select Direct Deposit for the tax refund and then enter your bank routing and account number for the deposit.

Yes it's confusing because there should be an edit button to change your direct deposit information. Something for turbotax to work on. Help us please.

@Mark0mark You are posting to a four year old thread.

Did you already e-file?  If you did NOT e-file you can go to the FILE section  step 2 to enter/change how you want to receive your refund.  If you want direct deposit you need the routing number and your own account number.

You cannot  change banking information while your return is in pending, nor can you change it after the return is accepted.  The IRS does not allow it.

Thanks for your response. I haven't filed yet. I don't see a way to change my direct deposit information. I'm at step 2 within the file section.

When you select direct deposit and continue what screen do you see?

You should land on a screen labeled Let's get your bank account info
