How to allow a third party to discuss my tax return with IRS?

In TurboTax online software?

Although your federal tax return has a place for a third-party designee, the TurboTax interview does not ask about it, and it can't be entered in TurboTax Online.

A third-party designee can only be entered in forms mode, which TurboTax Online doesn't offer.  This can be entered only if you are using the CD/Download TurboTax software.

I happen to have the CD version, but I can't find anywhere to allow a third party to discuss with IRS

Using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions, click on Forms.

When in Forms mode open the Federal Information Worksheet (Info Wks) by clicking on the worksheet on the left side of the screen, if not already open.

With the Worksheet opened, scroll down to Part VI.  The section for entering a Third Party Designee will be available.

I downloaded Turbotax Deluxe 2020 onto my Mac using a license number from a purchased CD. I cannot enter a Third Party Designee on the form. The form will not allow me to click the YES box to add, and I cannot add a name. This has worked in previous years. I complete taxes for my children so they want me listed as a designee  because they may not be able to answer questions directly about their taxes.

@susanhowe933 You can name a 3rd party designee in the Federal Information Worksheet,  in Part VI - Federal Information for Your Return, at the bottom of that section.
