How to access the form 1116 in this year edition? (Deluxe, online version)

Hi, 

Unlike last year, I am not able to access the questionnaire for entering the data on the 1116 form. Specifically, I need to access the "Income category" page and to select the "resourced by treaty" option. (I do not have "foreign earned income" , but only passive income form US and foreign sources, which must be resourced).

To claim either the foreign tax credit or deduction:

  1. Make sure you've entered all your foreign income.
  2. From within your return, search for foreign tax credit and select the Jump to link in the search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you pay foreign taxes in 2020 or have credits to use from a prior year?
  4. Follow the instructions to get the credit or deduction.
  5. if TurboTax Online says "Looks like the Foreign Tax Credit doesn't apply this year," click Back and check the box "I have foreign tax credit carryover that I want to use" (even if you don't). That will start the Form 1116 process.
