How is the 2022 electric vehicle tax credit for a binding contract before 8/15/22 delivery before 12/31/22 in turbotax software recorded?

If you had a  binding contract before 8/15/2022, you will need to enter that it was placed in service and acquired on 8/15/22 or whatever date you entered into the binding contract.  The law allows for a loophole for those who were in a binding contract before 8/16/2022 to still claim the credit under the previous rules even if they did not take delivery prior to that date.
