Hey jtwhiteoak5,
Thanks, for the question. You are wanting to know how long it will take for your refund, when filing with form 8379.
Here is the info that I found out about this:
"Please note that takes 11-14 weeks for the IRS to process joint returns with Form 8379; about 8 weeks if the form is filed by itself, after the joint return has been processed."
I hope this has answered your question.Hey jtwhiteoak5,

I hope this has answered your question.I have heard like 3 weeks, that's an estimate I have got.
Is that how long it took for you?? I efiled with it all at once bc the IRS said that was the smartest way, for faster results...So I am trying to figure it out??
I efiled my form and for some reason it was transmitted as a duplicate filing... I called the irs and was told because they are behind injured spouse claims are taking around 18 weeks to process..... SMH
I efiled all together and its was fine. I just have no date or news...When did they say that to you. .and did u call the IRS??
I called yesterday..... The lady was "ms. mallard badge number 814529" and she amazingly enough was pleasant. She stated due to the volume in injured spouse claims this year they are behind and taking around 18 weeks to process....
I can't get a number to actually get a person on the phone IRS, to see if they received the 8379 form it has been 8 weeks and I filed separately with w-2 ... please help
Hi, try calling (800) 829-0582 extension 652. I waited about 20 minutes to get someone on the line. Good luck
You can also login here and view your transcript to see any updates to your tax account. They update behind schedule though so if something happened to your account this week you won't see it till next week at least.

We filed our taxes February 23, and it was accepted that day. Last year we received our taxes in about 6 weeks when we filed injured spouse. Today starts week 11 so I called to get info. They said the 11 weeks doesn't start until they process my return which was March 23!! I'm calling again to hopefully get a better explanation. It makes no sense
You are posting on a two year old question. The IRS has lost personal and funding since then
@haleysobrien irs recived my refund on feb28 was offset completely. Mailed in injured spouse on March 8 I've been calling I finally was told they mailed a check as of Monday June 6
Wow starting to feel this injured spouse check is a urban legend lol
I have filed injured spouse for the last 3 years.. it takes between 11-18 weeks to get it back... I just checked my transcripts and apparently they approved it Friday so I will prob see my check in the mail by this fri or sat....
How do you know they approved it? Do they put an amount instead of 0.00
Mine still says:
971 Injured spouse claim received $0.00
I filed January 29th and just received a letter yesterday that they have paid off my husband's 2009 taxes with my refund even though I just married in 2014, he is unemployed so all income is mine alone, and I filed the injured spouse form. I'm anticipating that they will take the remainder of my refund for years 2010-2013 as well. So much for the injured spouse form.
