How do you bypass the "file by mail" loop? I can't file online because there are 0s on my 1095-A, but no browser will let me escape a loop of suggesting I file online.

If you did not have healthcare coverage from one of the state Marketplace Exchanges for certain months of the year then you need to leave all the columns blank (empty) for those months on the Form 1095-A, remove the 0's.

To enter, edit or delete your Form 1095-A -

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Medical
  • On Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A), click the start or update button

Then go back through the File section of the program and e-file your 2024 tax return.
