How do we find out if TT will support form 8897 for tax year 2020? I understand TT did not support for tax year 2019, but I believe QOZ is becoming more popular.

It is NOT on the list of supported forms ... if you want to add the form you will need to manually fill it out then use the FORMS mode to make the change manually and then  add it to a mailed in return.  Or use a local paid tax professional.

Form 8997 does not appear in the forms list in the 2020 edition of TurboTax Home & Business.

The odds are slim to none that it will be added for this tax year at this point.

it’s not on this list either.  Is there hope it will be included?

Quite frankly, there is probably no hope at this point.

I called intuit. Form 8997 will not be supported again for 2020 according to the person I talked to and her supervisor.

I'm not holding out hope.

After ~10 years with TT, I guess I've out grown it.

I'm researching TaxAct and FreeTaxUsa and planning on transitioning over to one of those platforms.

I believe both support this form at the higher tiers.

I think it's just a matter of which one is a better individual fit.
