There will be a (State) Tax Summary link directly under the link to Preview my 1040

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on (State) Tax Summary on the left side of the screen.

If you want to view/print the actual state forms prior to filing, you will need to pay in advance for the Federal and state returns.   We can tell you how.

@mesquitebean

Don't you think it's a good idea to actually look at your return before you file it??

Of course.  I'm not sure what prompted your question.   I clearly said above that we could tell the user how to pay for them in advance to view/print them prior to filing.  TurboTax is the one who doesn't allow viewing/printing of the forms and worksheets prior to paying (except for the limited Preview function of viewing the 1040 Worksheet and Schedules 1-3 in the Federal return, and the tax summary screens mentioned by DoninGA above.)

In the interest of time, since the user has not yet responded, I can go ahead and provide the steps now.

Here's how to pay in advance for your TurboTax product to have viewing/printing privileges of the actual forms and worksheets during return preparation and for review prior to filing:

  • Open your return, and in the left menu column, choose Tax Tools, then Print Center.
  • Then choose "Print/save/preview this year's return."
  • On the next screen choose to "Pay now".
  • It may ask you if you want to purchase MAX Benefits for an additional fee, which you can decline if not wanted.
  • The next screen should be an Order Summary.  Review that, and if all is OK, click Continue.
  • It should then prompt you for payment by credit or debit card.  The screen may only say "credit card", but it will take a debit card.

NOTE:  If it should offer you the option to "pay later" out of the Federal refund, that can't be used for this purpose of printing/viewing in advance.  You will need to pay now by credit/debit card in order to download/print prior to filing.
