how do I tell Turbotax that I received US government interest as part of my "dividends" 1099 D report? That interest earned from a money market fund isn't state taxed.

the money market fund investment was the default option in my brokerage account. I know how much is US government interest but not how to tell Turbotax for the form. Can anybody help?

Yes, the dividends should be on your tax form, 1099-DIV in box 12. The program knows those are US obligations and makes it state exempt automatically.
