How do I run Turbotax Business 2015 software on my MacBook Pro? Please give advice for the easiest way to set up a virtual PC interface.

I have an S-corp and would like to use Turbotax Business 2015 to file my corporate taxes. I understand that the Turbotax Business software is only available for use on a PC/desktop computer, and that no software for Mac computers exist. What is the recommendation for Mac users who would like to use Turbotax Business software?

You would probably be better off asking about running Windows software on a Mac in a Apple forum, rather than a tax forum.

Since I'm not planning on running any other Windows software on my Mac, I'd like to know what is the best (and easiest) fix Mac users have found for successfully running the Turbotax Business software on a Mac computer, especially anything that is Turbotax-recommended or Intuit-recommended.

During the last 2 years I have not see any posts in this forum on that subject, except complaints. A quick google search can up with this FYI: http://kb.parallels.com/119310

I think it depends on how powerful and up to date your Mac system is. Your main choices are Bootcamp or Parallels. With Bootcamp, you reboot your Mac as a full Windows system using a second Windows partition on your hard drive. This means that you can't access your Mac software at the same time, but it is easier on system resources since you are not trying to run Mac and Windows at the same time. With Parallels, you open a window for Windows on your Mac. You can switch back and forth between other Mac programs, but it is more resource-intensive since you have to run both systems at the same time. If you have a large monitor (or two), lots of RAM and a fast processor, you may prefer Parallels. If you have a more limited system (a little older, or a laptop) you will probably have a better result with Bootcamp.

Either way, you need a legal copy of Windows. It might come with Parallels (at an extra cost on top of the Parallels software.). Bootcamp is free as long as you buy a copy of Windows. I strongly recommend Windows 7 or 8.1 and not Windows 10. I'm not sure the Bootcamp drivers are updated and Microsoft's new OS's always have growing pains.

FWIW, I've been using a PC copy of Quickbooks on a 2010 MacBook Pro with Bootcamp for several years and have not had any problems. I also install both Mac and PC versions of Turbotax for testing and troubleshooting, although I do my own work on the Mac side.

If you run TT Business through Parallels will the info from Quickbooks 2016 for Mac import?

If you download any kind of Windows or Microsoft software on your Apple computers you void the warranties and open your Apple to Viruses.
