How do I resolve the following error on my Medical expenses worksheet' HDEDUC amt is estimated'...correct the amount and select actual amount from edit menu. ?

No idea what else to tell you here.  I cannot proceed as it will not let me past the 'analysis' phase of my return until I resolve this and I have no idea how to resolve this!

Go to Forms on the upper right, then open the medical expenses worksheet on the left.  Right click on each expense to see which one shows as estimated, and remove estimated for that one.  It sounds like it's the health insurance amount

Similar issue here.  I paid Dental Insurance Premiums outside of the Marketplace, etc.  I removed them from the line item interview from Step-by-Step and saw the error was eliminated.  Saved the file, then went back to that line item in the Step-by-Step and reentered the Dental Premium.  No ERROR now.

When the source of the error on the form cannot be found, often the only other solution (and sometimes the least frustrating) is to delete the form and re-enter the data.

When working in the installed edition of TurboTax on your computer we recommend doing things before deleting the form.

  1. Print a copy of the form or write down all of the data that will be removed, so that you have it handy for quick re-entry.
  2. Save a duplicate copy of the return using the "Save As" or "Copy" (Mac) commands.  Be sure to give the duplicate copy a name that you can easily distinguish. Do this before making any changes so that if necessary, you can revert back to the original return.

Once you have saved a copy and recorded the expenses click on Delete Form near the bottom of the form itself.  Then, for the best results in creating a new copy, return to Step-by-Step (or Easy Step for Mac) and enter the expenses in the interview for Medical Expenses under Deductions and Credits.  Then run the review (and/or view the form itself in the Forms mode of the program.)

This appears to be a BUG and is still present in 2020! When will it be fixed despite multiple updates??

IT is a bug of several years standing

WHEN WILL TURBOTAX FIX IT ?????

if you delete first entry to a manual entry lower on the page, it makes next one ESTIMATED, perpetuating the problem

TURBOTAX -- please correct this longstanding error
