How do I report Minnesota Frontline Worker Pay in Turbotax?

MN provided Frontline Worker Pay in 2022 to those who applied and qualified.  How does one report this in Turbotax?   MN sent the following communication and instructions if using forms:

Tax treatment of Frontline Worker Pay

The Minnesota Department of Revenue is contacting you about how to report Frontline Worker Pay on your 2022 tax returns. Because federal Forms 1099 were not issued for these payments, we wanted to share guidance on reporting the payment.

How do I report Frontline Worker Pay on my 2022 tax returns?

This payment:

Is taxable federally. Report it on line 8 of federal Schedule 1 (Form 1040).
Is not taxable in Minnesota and not included in household income. If you report the payment on line 8 of Schedule 1, subtract it on these lines:
Line 29 of Schedule M1M, Income Additions and Subtractions.
Line 10 of Form M1PR, Homestead Credit Refund (for Homeowners) and Renter’s Property Tax Refund.
Line 5b of Schedule M1ED, K-12 Education Credit.

Here’s how to enter your Minnesota Frontline Worker Pay in TurboTax according to awesome Tax Expert @MichaelG81.

 

Where do I enter in the information here stating that I did in fact received the Frontline Worker Pay. It should be on line 8 of Federal. where are the line numbers?

 

To add Minnesota Frontline Worker Pay to federal:

 

  1. Select Federal in the left column
  2. Tap Wages and Income
  3. Scroll down to Less Common Income
  4. Select Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C
  5. Select Other reportable Income
  6. Say Yes to “Any Other Taxable Income”
  7. On “Other Taxable Income,” enter MN Frontline as the description and the amount

To remove Minnesota Frontline Worker Pay from your MN return:

 

  1. Continue in Minnesota until you see the screen “Frontline Worker Pay”
  2. Enter the Payment Amount (Do not enter an amount unless the payment was included in your federal income)
