How do I record my 1099-R for US saving bonds

Please clarify your question.

 

  • Are you sure it is a 1099-R?
  • A 1099-R is for a retirement distribution.
  • For Savings Bonds it should be 1099-INT

if it was a 1099-R the USs interest is no longer tax exempt.
