How do I handle "family support" paid by me? My settlement agreement includes me paying a single amount of "Alimony as Part of Family Support"- is there any deduction?

This is a post 2018 divorce. I live in Connecticut.  We refer to the monthly amount as "family support" with no distinction between alimony and child support.

Support ordered by a court due to a divorce or separation agreement entered into after 12/31/2018 is not deductible on a federal tax return.

Voluntary support to an individual has never been deductible on a tax return.

The divorce decree had to indicate the payment as alimony to be deductible as alimonyon an income tax return.  Contact your divorce attorney if you need claification on this matter.
