How do I get the In-Home Supportive Services in California to take out Federal Taxes? W4 filled out same as my Full Time job where taxes are taken out of correctly.

This is what is on file now. I have filled out a W4, 4 different times and they still will only take out $10 but did start taking out state taxes.: Married DE-4 Status: Single Elective SDI: No
W-4 Allowance: 0 DE-4 Allowance: 0 SDI Begin Date:
W-4 Amount: $10.00 DE-4 Amount: $10.00 SDI End Date:
W-4 Last Updated: 03/11/2022 DE-4 Last Updated: 03/11/2022 W-4 Exemption Amount: $0.00

Unfortunately, no.  The W4 can be a little counterintuitive.  Zero is for students and those who want as little taken out as possible.  You would enter one.  One is a single person with no dependents and should result in the largest amount of tax being withheld from your check.

There's a box where you can ask them to take out a specific amount of money.

It's 4c), the last one.

Alternatively, you could add this extra income (estimated) on line 4a) on the W4 for your full time job, and not have the taxes taken out separately from this income, or just have some extra money taken out for taxes using 4c) on that form.

Thank you for replying. I have filled out 4- W4s for IHSS. For this last one, I asked for $85.00 extra to be taken out. They kept it at the $10 that I had requested in an earlier W4. If I put zero deductions and zero exemptions, aren't they supposed to take out the most taxes?

Thank you so much for that answer. I will do that on the new one I am filling out.
