HOW DO I FILED MY TAXES FOR FREE WITH TURBOTAX, ? THIS YEAR THEIR CHARGE IS TOO EXPENSIVE!

You can file your taxes for free with TurboTax if you qualify for the Free Edition. Here’s how:

• Getting Started: To start filing for free, visit the TurboTax Free Edition page and follow the step-by-step instructions. You can import your W-2 information directly or manually enter it
• Limitations: If your tax situation is more complex (e.g., you have itemized deductions, self-employment income, or stock sales), you may need to upgrade to a paid version

You can also  get a TurboTax discount through various methods:

• Affiliate Partner Discounts: TurboTax partners with various organizations to offer discounts.

As long as you meet the requirements for the free file you can use the free file.  See Sabrina's post above about eligibility.  If you upgraded by mistake, you can select to downgrade.  To downgrade follow these steps:

1. Open your return if you haven't already.
2. In the left menu, select Switch Products.
3. Select Downgrade.
