How do I file separately on a combined return for Kentucky TT?

I used TT for my federall and did married filing jointly.  But I want to do the Kentucky state taxes as married filing separately on a combined return.  How do I do that?

To change your Kentucky filing status, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your state return.
  2. The second screen should read, Your Kentucky Filing Status. Click on MFS on Combined Return

The 740 instructions state that if you filed jointly for federal purposes, you are allowed to file married filing separately on a combined return. This reports your incomes individually on one tax form. This filing status usually results in a lower tax than married filing a joint return.
