How do I file PUA-1099G? I received a PUA-1099G (Not 1099-G) so, this doesn't have any box numbers. Only a total amount paid and amount with held?

The pandemic unemployment assistance (PUA-1099-G) would be entered in the same area of your return as other unemployment compensation since it is taxable income.  There is not a separate section for pandemic unemployment assistance.  Just match the description of the information on your form to the description on the screen without regard to specific box numbers if they do not match or there are no box numbers on your form.

Use these steps to go to the right section:

  • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
  • This opens a box where you can type in “unemployment” and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
  • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to unemployment
  • Click on the blue “Jump to unemployment” link

I thought the same thing.  But I efiled and put the total payment amount in and the tax withheld number in.  After I checked my efile it did not list my unemployment total number or the tax withheld.  Did anyone else have this issue?  I am filing as dependent.  This is very confusing and would appreciate the help.  It did ask some random questions about my parents income but I skipped over that because I didnt know the answer.  Thank you for any help.
