How do I file a 2018 return for a person who died in 2017?

A retirement account was paid in 2018 for my spouse who died in 2017. She was assigned a new ID number. I received a 1099-R

If it has her SSN on the 1099-R, it has to go on her 2018 Estate Income tax return (Form 1041).
