How do I file a 1099 for more than 5 dependents ? We live in Alaska and receive a pfd that counts as income. We have 8 children.

There are more than a dozen kinds of 1099's.  What kind are you trying to enter?   1099NEC?  1099B?  1099R?  1099Misc?  SSA1099?

Please explain....and what does having a 1099 have to do with your children?

1099 misc, we live in Alaska and each of our kids received a payment from the permanent fund that we need to claim

All you need to do is enter the children as dependents in the My Info section of the program when using the online editions.

@jessietalbot08 Can you edit your post above to include that you are asking about Alaska?  That way it is more likely to catch the attention of someone more familiar with the Alaska tax laws.

Does every child have only income that is interest and dividend income (including capital gain distributions) and totals less than $11,500?

Do all of the children have unearned income of more than $1,150 each?

Just add all of the Alaska Permanent Fund payments for all of your children together into one amount.  That will take care of it.

I think if you add them all together, then it will take a higher amount as it takes 10% from the amount above 1250 for each kid in 2023 taxes---thus you would be taxed a much higher amount than if you add each individual separately. I am also having the same issue maxing out what TT will offer. Anyone ever find a better solution for this? Need one more 8814 for my 6th kid, but TT says I am maxed out.

It's true.  I hadn't realized the amount had gotten that big!  You can still combine them.  Keep them under 1250 for each 1099 you enter - the total amount is what's important, not the amount per 1099.
