How do I file a 1095-A and 8962 if I was only on my parents marketplace insurance for a few months in 2024 and now have my own private insurance through work?

My parents gave us a copy of their 1095-A and the turbotax directions said to file it and put in the percentage that is mine, which I did. However I cannot figure out how to get the tax return to accurately reflect the amounts we paid since we did not share for the whole year and I am now not on a marketplace insurance plan

Please see this FAQ for more specifics to assist as there are several options that could apply and each situation may differ slightly for tax return purposes.

For the portion of time you were insured privately through your employer, you will not need to report anything on your tax return.  You only need to report the portion of time you were covered through the Marketplace.
