How do I enter the $$ info from a 1099-DIV that isn't a bank - like from IBM?

That doesn't matter.  Most 1099 Div are not from a bank.  Don't enter the bank name and don't try to import it. It is just as fast and easy to manually enter it. When you enter a 1099 the first screen is How to Enter, by Import or Enter it Myself. Scroll down and click the last circle to enter it myself.

Are you in the wrong place?  It doesn't go in as interest.

Enter a 1099-Div under
Federal Taxes or Personal (Home & Buisness)
Wages and Income
Interest and Dividends
Dividends on 1099-DIV - Click the Start or Update button
