How do I enter my IRS PIN number? Federal Efile was rejected

I do not know where I enter the Federal IRS PIN number. The "help" report says TT will ask for it, but it never did. I received an email saying my Federal efile was rejected (which caused my state to also be).

Please help!

You receive a IP PIN from the IRS, you enter your 6 digit IP PIN as follows:

How do I add or remove my 6-digit IP PIN?

Follow these instructions to enter your IP PIN or to remove one that you accidentally entered.

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account.
  2. Open or continue to your return if you don't already have it open.
  3. In the Search bar type "IP PIN" (don't forget the space) and then select the Jump to link in the search results.
  4. On the Identity Protection PIN screen, answer Yes. Select Add and enter your IP PIN in the space provided.
    • If you need to remove the IP PIN, select the trash icon.
  5. Select Continue, then select Done.

Once you enter your IP PIN your Federal return should go through, you will be able to file your State with the Federal.

If you do not have an IP PIN, then you would enter your 5 digit PIN when you go through the section to file your return.

To enter, edit or delete a 6 digit IP PIN

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Other Tax Situations
  • Scroll down to Other Return Info
  • On Identity Protection PIN, click the start button

Or enter ip pin in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ip pin

Your solution did not work for me.

TT solution did not work that they sent. They said go to the "Federal Tax" tab, there is none.

This is what I did to fix the problem;

Select the "Personal" tab.

         Select the "Other Tax Situations"

scroll down to "Other Return Info"

Click on "Start Button" opposite Identity Protection Pin

                        Follow instructions on the screen.
