How do I enter my CCDF on my taxes when I don't claim my children as independents even though I have sole physical custody.

I am almost finished with my taxes but it says I owe almost $400 in state. Is that because I have CCDF help but no dependents on my taxes?

I would need to know what form the child care development fund (CCDF) payments were reported on to tell you how to enter it on your tax return. However, the grant money is taxable so it could be the reason you owe taxes. Not having dependents could negatively impact your tax situation, as you would not be eligible for the child tax credit of up to $2,000 per child on your federal return. Most states have a deduction for dependents, so not having dependents could also negatively effect your state taxes as well.
